Dental Veneers
Thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their appearance.
What is Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are thin shells, typically made of porcelain or composite resin, custom-crafted to match your desired tooth shape, size, and colour, then bonded to the front surface of your teeth. To prepare, your dentist removes a very thin layer of enamel to ensure the veneer sits naturally, then takes an impression used to create your custom veneers. Once ready, each veneer is carefully bonded into place and polished to blend seamlessly with your smile. Depending on the number of teeth being treated, this typically takes two visits, with a temporary veneer worn in between while your permanent ones are crafted.
Why is this procedure performed?
- Chipped, worn, or irregularly shaped teeth
- Persistent staining or discolouration that whitening cannot fully correct
- Small gaps between teeth
- Minor misalignment where orthodontic treatment is not desired
- A desire for a more uniform, refined smile
How does this procedure help?
Veneers can transform the appearance of your smile in as few as two visits, correcting a range of cosmetic concerns at once, from colour and shape to minor spacing issues. Because porcelain veneers resist staining, they help maintain a bright, even smile over time. With good oral care, veneers typically last ten to fifteen years or more before needing replacement.
